Invitation to Student Membership . . .

What is Tri-M?  Tri-M, once named the “Modern Music Masters”, is the international honor society for music students in senior high school.  It is a program of MENC (Music Educators National Conference):  The National Association for Music Education, an association of nearly 70,000 music education professionals nationwide who realize the importance of motivating students and recognizing music achievements.

What does Tri-M do?  Many things!  Tri-M serves the school and community in various ways.  Some of these include:  sponsoring concerts, providing ushers for concerts, providing soloists to perform at school events, honoring people in the community for their contributions to the school music program, community service projects, creating an awareness of the importance of school music, and much more.

What does Tri-M offer me?  Or Tri-M chapter meets during the school year to plan chapter activities including social parties, attendance to musical performances outside our school, and the like.  The greatest importance is the chance to share that, which is of importance to all members—experiencing the joy of music.

What do I do to become a member?  

Tri-M is an honor society and membership does have a few requirements:

  1- Write & submit a 1 1/2 to 2 page double spaced report on “What Music Means to Me”.

2- Fill out the Tri-M Application Form via google.

3- Display excellent character and a good attitude within the music department and school community.

4- Be enrolled in a CUHS Performing Ensemble.

The report & google application form are DUE no later than Tuesday, September 2.
