State Fair Parade
We will depart CUHS at 7:00 AM. We will wear band t-shirt, jeans w/out holes, dinkles, and band hat for the performance. Arrive early enough to get your gear loaded. You will need money for 3 fast-food meals. Please be polite on the bus—pick up your trash and be considerate of those around you.

Home Football
Call time is 6:00 pm. You will need to wear BLUE jeans w/out holes, band t shirt, band hat and black dinkles. We will warm up at 6:30 and go out for pre-game at 6:45. All students will sit with the band until after half time. After half time you will be dismissed. Band members only in band room before game and band members only in the band section during the game.
Meet the Titans
Band members should meet in the band room at 5:30 PM. Please wear your band t-shirt (jeans or shorts) and/or sports jersey if you are being introduced in another fall sport. We will open the event with the Star Spangled Banner followed by the Fight Song. You will then be introduced by class and dismissed afterwards. Please take instruments and equipment back to band room after the event. This is for a grade, so make sure you are in attendance.
CUHS Band Camp
CUHS Band Camp is August 3—6 in the HS Band room. All fall marching music will be rehearsed and mastered. All supplies will be ordered this week: shoes, reeds, valve oil, drum sticks, etc. Print and bring supply form with money/check the week of camp. Fees are due this week! See you soon!
JH Band Camp
JH Band Camp is July 27—30, 9:00 am to 3:00 PM. Please print and bring band fees the first day of camp—or pick up a packet the first day and return the next day with payment. We will order shoes, check out uniforms and master fall music. Students will be given an hour for lunch each day—you can bring your lunch or walk to Sonic.
Departure Day
Check in is from 12:30 PM—2:00 PM. Enter through the north choir room outside door—your bags will be checked & then you will be instructed what to do. Once bags are checked, no student will be allowed to leave. Each student should bring 1 suitcase for under the bus and 1 carryon to have with you on the bus. Wear comfortable clothes for the bus ride—bring a pillow, blanket and change of clothes for next morning (toothbrush, deodorant, etc.)

This is performance day! All band members wear band trip shirt and athletic shorts. Bring a change of clothes with you—in your backpack for after the performance.

Spring Concerts
Tri-M Members show up at 2:10 dressed in all black. All other band members show up at 3:10 dress in concert black.
Tri-M Recital/Spring Concert
Recital is at 2:30 PM. All Tri-M Members and students playing solos or ensembles should attend this event and show up at 2:00 PM dressed in concert black. Immediately after the recital we will set up the stage for the concert at 3:30. All band members should arrive no later than 3:15 for the concert. Concert dress is classic black attire. Concert band will play first followed by awards and Jazz Band. We will conclude with a 10 minute slide show. All band members are required to stay for the entire event—for a grade.
State Solo/Ensemble Trip
State solo/ensembles is in April 24-25. We will be staying the night at the Country Inn & Suites—2176 E 23rd St, Lawrence, KS 66046

JH Carthage Festival
JH Band will perform at the Carthage Middle School Festival. Performance time is 9:00 AM in the Carthage Fine Arts Center, downtown Carthage. Students will need to arrive at school that day at 7:30 AM. We will load buses and pull out no later than 7:45 AM. Come dressed in uniform and be on time, we will not have time to wait if you are late (you will be left). Bring clothes to change after the event. We will then go to the mall in Joplin for lunch—students will need money for their lunch at the mall. We will return to Columbus by 2:00 PM.
Regional Solo/Ensembles
Solo/Ensemble competition is Sat., March 28 at PSU. We will depart CUHS at 7:00 AM. All performers should wear classic black concert attire. Come dressed if you play in the morning, if you play in afternoon you can change. Schedule is below all instrumental events are in Grubbs Hall.

CNC Festial
Arrive dressed in black concert attire. We will load the buses at 8:00 and pull out at 8:30 AM. We play at 10:00 at Girard. You may change clothes after the performance. We will then transfer to Pittsburg for lunch. We will arrive back at CUHS around 2:00 PM.
Jazz Fest
We will depart CUHS at 7:30 AM. Please come dressed in black concert attire. We play at 9:00 AM in McCray Hall on the Pitt State Campus. McCray Hall is on Broadway in the circle drive—parents are welcome to come listen. Bring $$ for lunch and some clothes to change into after the performance. We will arrive back at CUHS by 2:30 PM.
KMEA Convention

State Band Auditions
We will depart CUHS at 10:00 AM. Dress for the event is casual. Auditions are blind, but you will play better if you look nice. Wear nice school clothes for your audition—you can change afterwards for the trip home. You will need $$ for 3 meals—one nice meal and 2 fast food meals.

CUHS Christmas Concert
Arrive by 6:30 PM. Dress for the concert will be all black concert attire. NO boots, black jeans, or black with strips or designs. ALL black—classic.
JH Band Concert
Arrive at 6:45 pm—the concert begins at 7:00 pm. Arrive dressed in full uniform—we will wear the black vest for concerts. We will not wear gloves, however, you can wear a Santa HAT if you want to.
6 Grade Band Concert
Students should arrive at 6:45 pm—the concert begins at 7:00 PM. Please wear nice dress clothes. DO NOT wear shorts, sweatpants, dirty shoes. Examples of what to wear: nice jeans w/out holes with a sweater or button up shirt that is tucked in, skirts and/or dresses at a reasonable length. Remember the audience is looking up and what looks good in the mirror may not look good from the stage.
Branson Parade
We will meet & load the buses at 11:15 AM. We plan on pulling out at 11:30 PM sharp. We will stop at the Tanger Outlet and have time to shop and/or eat. We will also change into uniforms here and transfer to the parade route in old town Branson. Parade start time is 5:00 PM. After the parade we will go to Lambert’s to eat—plan on $20—$25 there. For parents attending here is a map of the parade route—it is in Old Town Branson.

The event is at the Bicknell Center, Pittsburg, KS. Concert is at 4:30 PM and parents are welcome to attend. We will bring you lunch.

Columbus Christmas Parade
JH/HS bands will combine for this performance. All band members meet in the band room at 6:15. JH Band members should arrived dressed in full uniform. All band members need to have a Santa hat and you also are welcome to decorate your instruments. Prizes will be given for best Santa Hat and decorated instruments. After the parade, make sure all of your equipment is store in the proper location. Parade starts at 7:00 PM.
Joint Christmas Parade Rehearsal JH/HS Bands
All JH & HS band members report to the band room prior to 7:55. We will warm up as a group and then you will be assigned your parade formation.
Veteran's Day Performance
Students should arrive dressed up. We will meet on the stage to warm-up before the assembly begins. Students should wear dress clothes of your choice—i.e. women: dresses (knee length, dress slacks, nice shoes), men: dress slacks with a belt, dress shirt with tie and nice shoes. You do not have to wear standard black at this event, however, you are required to dress up and look nice and put together. No crumpled, wrinkled, dirty clothes—combed and clean hair—NO sneakers, shorts, leggings, sweat pants,—if you are unsure DO NOT do it!
District Band Auditions
Be ready to pull out of CUHS at 7:30 AM. Please wear nice school clothes. We should be back by 3:00 PM.
JH Band - Neewoallah Parade
Arrive at the band room dressed in your uniform, to load the bus at 1:45. We will depart for Independence at 2:00 PM. Bring clothes to change into for after the parade. You will be given a little time to eat and walk around the Neewollah Festivities. You will need to bring money for a meal.
Parents driving to the parade: The parade starts at 4:00 PM in Independence. The parade route runs north to south on Penn Street and ends at the corner of Penn and Maple. Bus will be parked behind the Methodist Church.
Senior Night & Band Cook Out
We will be serving walking tacos at 5:00 for all band members. Be dressed into full uniform and ready to warm up by 6:10. We will walk out at 6:25 for Senior Night.
Columbus Day Jazz Gig
We play on the courthouse steps at 12:30 pm. Wear your band t-shirt. Arrive at the school at 11:30 am to load the trailer. You will be required to bring your own stand and saxes need to bring a stool. Everyone needs to help load. After the gig ALL members are required to help take equipment back to the school.
Columbus Day
JH students should arrive dressed in uniform between 8:30—8:45 am. You will be issued a bow tie when you arrive. Parade start time is 9:40 AM. After the parade, make sure you return to band room to pick up your equipment.
HS students should arrive by 8:45—9:00 AM. Be dressed in full uniform ready to go by 9:20. After the parade, please pick up your equipment and you are free to enjoy the rest of the day!
Home Football
Arrive at 6:00 pm to dress into full uniform. We will warm up at 6:30 PM.
Home Football- Homecoming
We will warm-up at 6:10 and walk out at 6:20 to watch the coronation. Please arrive on time. FULL uniform tonight.
